friday, soba noodles, sunshine, restlessness
This is one of those days when I desperately need people to post to the lists I'm on--postpostpost--and when my friends page is not updating fast enough to match my reading speed. I need distraction as I'm multitasking here.

It's gorgeous outside, and for once I actually sat out and basked for a few minutes in the sun, eating my lunch.

Everyone has seen this winsome picture, haven't they? (Click the thumbnail.) I would love to commission a Spike/Xander picture of some kind, something clothed and cuddly, but I'm too shy to ask--what if he's squicked by even the mildest form of slash?

I. Am. So. Fucking. Restless.

Wow, that pic. nautibitz recently posted a cartoon Spike/Buffy that I loved, drawn by lovebytez's cousin...I wonder if he could be induced to do a Spander. I'll find you a link.

Probably because everyone is six or less degrees of seperation away ;)

I try to be cool, and try to make interesting conversation :) Thank you.

Necessary Evil? Hee... right there in your corner I am :)

I just added you btw :)

Hmm. Tried to post to the list today. Yahoo seems to be being unkind.

If you're restless, why don't you write fic? Pretty please... Do you need a few plot bunnies? I'm sure if you ask, people will hurl those bunnies faster your way than you can duck them.

I remember those lovely ficlets you wrote two months ago. You wrote me a Spike/Lorne ficlet which was very pretty not to mention yummie. *stares wistfully into space*

You know, I looked at that Lorne/Spike thing again last week, and still quite liked it. I briefly toyed with the idea of writing more, but the kindling didn't catch. I'm so fucking blocked I could bite something.

writer's block sucks dead toads!
I have something similar. Not a big block, just the kind where I shy away from every big decision. Meaning I'm unable to plot, but still able to do stuff like fine-tuning. Language problems I feel able to solve but I'm utterly stumped when a character has to choose a direction. I get to the pivotal point and suddenly I'm no longer sure I want to go the way I initially planned. It's paralysing.

I sympathize with your need to be entertained, but as I also need to be entertained, we are at an impasse.

Dang.

That is a nice picture and it strikes me how masculine he looks compared to how most women draw him. This makes me think that I would love to know more about how men feel about Spike. We are so enclosed in our feminine little fannish world and the only two chaps I have ever known who liked Spike have both been totally disillusioned since Season 5. What does the newer male spike fan think?

You've clearly got nothing else to do Anna - go and find out ;-)

Heya... the artist here! If, you are in fact, talking about this piece :)

How do I feel about Spike?

Well, of course James is a good-looking, athletic fellow, and his very comic-book-like facial features makes him relatively easy to draw compared to some portraits I've done in the past.

As for the character? Well, I've really enjoyed the journey his character has undertaken, and in many ways, he's been the saving grace of Buffy's past 2 seasons. His transformation from big-bad to Buffy's confidant and stalwart defender has been a real joy to watch, and one of my very favorite Spike episodes is season four's "Doomed". I mean... Spike in a tropical shirt, attempting to stake himself, and then finally finding with glee that he can hurt demons without the chip-migraine. And then, his attempt at the end to get Willow and Xander to go out on patrol with him. Great stuff!

"I'm BACK! And I'm a BLOODY ANIMAL!"

Do I gush over the character/actor? Nah :) But he is wicked cool. *lol*

I'm not easily squicked :)

I could probably be talked into some sort of buddyish piece. Whatcha got in mind? :)

Eep. Hi. :) Your work is lovely--thanks for stopping by.

I could probably be talked into some sort of buddyish piece. Whatcha got in mind? :)

Hmm, possible images that come to mind:

1) S & X standing facing each other, hands loosely clasped, foreheads touching (er, S is a bit shorter, but not sure how much), eyes closed. Spike in duster, X...eh, in whatever. Vaguely butch. {g}

2) S & X in a pose similar to S & B's in "Touched," or S lying on a bed or couch awake, with X sort of draped over him, asleep. Or vice versa.

3) S standing behind X slightly off-center, with his chin on X's shoulder, arms around him, their arms entwined in some way. X's gaze cutting down and to the side with an awareness of S, a crooked smile on his face. S looking directly at "camera."

See me. I am shmoopy. And somewhat poorer, having just gone CD-mad today. Not sure I can afford you, but I'd be interested to know rates, etc. Feel free to touch base again. I'm at eliade @ drizzle.com. :)

Quite welcome... someone else directed me to your journal ;)

I think I could manage the 3rd one pretty easily... that one sounds pretty nice actually :)

Don't sweat the money right now. I'm kinda backed up, so it would be a little while before I can actually get to it. So, I will add ya to the list. :D

If ya wanna see more of my art, go to:

http://thanos.crowfans.com/portfolio/art.html

And there's a commissions section with pricing info. My rates are negotiable. I'm not a money nazi :)

Oh, and may I add ya to my friends-list?
Anna S.eliade on May 10th, 2003 03:06 pm (UTC)
Oh, cool. I looked over the commissions page--this is useful, thanks. I'm not sure where my own imagined pic would fall precisely, but do feel free to add me to your list and follow up when you've got the time and we can talk. :)

And you can add me to your friends list--no need to ask! ;)
^o^ CORVUS ^o^: Kaicorvus1970 on May 10th, 2003 05:16 pm (UTC)
Not a problem :)

I figure your pic would be something we could fit in between somewhere. We'll work it out, and I'll make sure its affordable :)

You are now added, And I hadda ask... its my way *grins* thankee :)
