sunday, muddy sunday

I can't believe how much I left off my music list. No Fleetwood Mac, no Indigo Girls--and what about "Let Your Love Flow" and "Big Yellow Taxi," two songs that always make me happy? Or Janis Ian's "At Seventeen," one of the songs I grew up on? Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee," and half of everything by Elvis, and Billie Holiday and Beethoven and... gyah. Even with my improperly long lists, I have managed to thwart my inner completist.

Last night after writing that post, I turned on the TV and was plunged into an infomercial for Time-Life's Ultimate 70s Collection. It seemed to be a sign, so I called and ordered it, becoming one of those dangerous vampires people with a credit card who order stuff late at night from bored telephone operators.

Pinky and Leather Tuscadero. Don't you sometimes just get struck with wonderment at the things that have shaped and scarred your psyche? Googling tells me that Suzi Quatro played Leather Tuscadero. I checked out Suzi's greatest hits CD and didn't recognize anything. On Pinky (Roz Kelly), Morty at Mortystv.com says:
Roz has made the news several times since "Happy Days," with her temper. In November of 1998 she was arrested for shooting up cars and a neighbors apartment after a car alarm went off in the early morning and woke her up. in 1999 she pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment, and later got the sentence reduced to probation. She ended up back in jail again in 2000 for parole violations after her ex-boyfriend told police that she hit him on the back with a cane.
Ah, the glamorous lives of Hollywood alumni.

So many decisions to make this morning. Pancakes? Nap? Shower? The white tiara or the pink?

I need servants to help me with these important life choices, and not incidentally to bring me pancakes in bed, which would moot everything and make my unnatural existence so much easier.
