I'm erratic but alive!
Inconstant, fitful, fluctuant, irregular - I love the thesaurus. I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I apologize for not following up sooner on my last post; I said I'd have news "soon" but soon took a while to happen. There were a few good reasons I didn't post right away and then I think I just got superstitious about it. I'd been planning some fairly big changes, and I think I feared they might not happen if I talked about them. But they did. I've moved away from Seattle and for the last few weeks I've been travelling south through Oregon and into California. Today I'm sitting in a cafe in San Francisco. I think I want to move here. I passed over the Golden Gate and into the city and fell in love immediately. It's beautiful.

If anyone in the general area (anywhere between Petaluma and Palo Alto, basically, and of course East to Oakland) is interested in touching base, let me know. :)

I have no idea what else to post about right now - I'm a little giddy and distracted. But if anyone has questions about the mundane details of my life, please ask and I promise to answer. *g*

OMG, now THAT's a post! I'm thrilled and excited for you, honey. I just can't get over it!!!!! Do tell us more - like what happened when you quit, and what you're going to do in SF!

Whee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This calls for exclamation point abuse, shut up. Nice to hear from you. :0)
Anna S.eliade on October 23rd, 2006 09:32 pm (UTC)
*jumps on you, gets handfuls of posh* Ah, I've missed you and so many other peeps! *kiss*

Let's see. I quit and was finished the next Friday, and then I spent a startling amount of time divesting myself of most of what I own(ed) and getting ready to move. Psychologically ready, physically ready, etc. It was pretty cool, though it was a drawn-out process in some ways. (E.g., my landlords offered to let me stay on past 10/1 rent-free *and* pay me if I'd take calls from prospective tenants and show the apartment, which I did. Which worked out well, but I got antsy toward the end. ;)

I have no idea what I'm going to do in SF. Try to find a cool apartment that won't gut my as-yet-non-existent income each month and then find a job so that there *is* income, and then try to live, etc etc. The usual. *g*

Wow. :-)

I am glad for you -- these all sound like really good things.

Thank you, shiny girl. *moist hugs from afar*

I'm so excited for you! And also in Davis -- that's about as far from SF as Petaluma (which is my hometown), just in a sort of... diagonal NE direction, near Sacramento. If you're going to be around for a while, or thinking of driving out this way, let me know! :)

If you're going to be around for a while, or thinking of driving out this way, let me know! :)

You're on, baby! :-D I don't think I have your personal info in my little rolodexy thing, but we can exchange e-mail & phone #s and all that. *kiss*

I wonder once in a while where you were. Last time was only a few days ago, when your Mulder/Methos came into conversation :)
Anna S.eliade on October 23rd, 2006 09:36 pm (UTC)
Time gets away from me - sometimes dismayingly so.

Mulder/Methos. Ngyah. I hope good things were said. I have some embarrassment issues about that story, since I had seen only about 40 minutes of Highlander at the time I wrote it. (And not much more since then.) But we all have to make our newbie mistakes, right? *g*

But not sugar-free chocolate, I hope. I mean, unless it's both tasty *and* good for you. *g*

o.O

If you're anywhere near downtown, I'll probably walk by your cafe on my way to Walgreens in 20 minutes or so. WEIRD.

Welcome to SF OMG.

Oh well, I guess I missed you. So, if you hear someone out in the street yelling, "Anna! Doesn't rhyme with banana!" That's me looking for you.

If you're in the area first weekend in Nov check out Bascon: http://www.bascon.org (they also have an LJ)

Also, some parties announced, here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SFBAS/

Thank you! I can't believe I didn't post for 2 months - seriously, I don't know how time gets away from me to such a degree. But it'll probably make sense when I say that the diminishing returns of time is one of the main reasons I decided I had to get up and out and do something a bit different.

It's good to see your voice online again. I missed your tales-of-life. This sounds like an exciting move. Good luck!

Thank you! :) It is good to see your voice too - and I think that must be how I say it from now on. "Good to see your voice." That's it exactly.

I've missed you too, very much - more than once in the last few months I told myself to get in touch with you, to give you my best wishes and thoughts and see how you were doing. In fact, what guilt I have about my absence is mainly because of my failure to touch base with you; that and one or two other things along the same lines. I haven't been reading LJ at all - it's been weeks and weeks. It's not that real life has been a constant monkey rodeo of excitement, but for whatever reason I couldn't manage to split my focus. Anyway - how are you doing?

oh mon dieu, san francisco! I've been there three times, loved the fog, the whole climate, not too cold, not too hot, loved the sea, the hinterland with its dry yellow mountains, the incredible (korean/chinese/japanese) food and they have a yearly yaoi convention, just for that event alone it's worth a trip. And the the bridges! It still makes my heart sing, just remembering those marvelous views over the bay.
Anna S.: cowseliade on October 24th, 2006 02:40 am (UTC)
I just walked down to Fisherman's Wharf, where I'm sitting now, and on the way here I kept thinking: I don't know how I could love this more. The only way I could would be if John Cusack pulled up alongside the curb in a limo and gave me a check for a hundred thousand dollars as fulfillment of a dare from his sister Joan, who then leans over and blows me a kiss.

Wait. You've moved, as in left your home with whatever stuff fits in your car? *Is stunned*

I really, really miss reading your posts, which I say NOT to make you feel guilty -- because that's the last thing I'd want -- but so that you know you mean something to me. *Hugs*
Anna S.eliade on October 24th, 2006 02:44 am (UTC)
Yes! It's bemusing. *g* I've missed you too, monkey-face - I just noted in a comment above to Mona that I haven't read LJ in almost 2 months, except for a brief foray a few weeks back where I dipped my toe in and nearly drowned as I tried to read 1000 posts and realized I'd never catch up. Then I just zipped offline again and have been there until now. I hope you are well - are you? *hugs*

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! I was excited enough at an eliade sighting, but your sudden life mobility came like the ending of Sixth Sense. Like, I wasn't expecting that! Now I see the lead-up in a different light! (Hey, I saw the movie the week it came out. Cut me slack, I didn't know there were spoilers, or I'd have seen the ending coming too, all right? Jeezus.)

But you! You're in my state! Well, I cannot argue that LA is prettier than SF. But you could always move south, you know. Penetrate a new industry. Go rollerblading at Venice Beach. In your Raybans.

Well, heavens. Tell us stories about where you are and what you're doing!
