For nzlaura,

Top five textures:

1. the fur of young things, like kittens and puppies
2. ultra-soft microfibers: I have a slippery scarf that I love (a gift from katallison) and also a Barefoot Dreams bathrobe, which is amazing
3. earth
4. oasis (that soft green foam you use to arrange flowers)
5. seaweed

For herself_nyc,

Top five all time articles of clothing in your life and why:

1. a cheap oversized v-neck tee shirt I got in Key West, which was perfect loungewear, and which I mysteriously lost at some point
2. the first pair of jeans I got when I got down to the never again attained weight of 117, which I kept for years in the hopes of wearing them again, and finally resolved to toss
3. a blue velvet opera cloak I got cheap at a retro clothes shop but never had reason to wear more than once
4. the Army jacket I wore all the time in high school, because it was my literal camouflage
5. the red poncho with white fringe that my mother knitted for me when I was little, mostly because it just stands out in my mind

For dessert_first,

What are five characters you've never written but would like to, and why?

1. Simon from Firefly, with Jayne, because it would amuse me, in a kind of Xander snarks Spike way
2. Michael from Ultraviolet (Jack Davenport), because it would just be so cool, and the 3 other UV fans out there somewhere would have something to read
3. Monk--I'd love to find a way to slash him, because his character is utterly whacked; he's the ultimate obsessive-compulsive, infuriating and hilarious, yet the way his grief drives him, and the way he's helplessly trapped in solitude and ritual by his illness, can be so poignant
4. Harry Potter, because then I could offer my mad fan-fiction skillz to a whole new market segment of insane thirteen-year-olds and I'd surely have 3000 new readers within a week and...actually, strike that
5. Jack Sparrow, with Norrington--the fandom I'd have fallen for if I'd trusted my ability to write historical fiction

For shepenwepet,

Top five paintings, photographs or other kinds of visual pieces of art

I'm not good at recalling individual artworks off the top of my head, so I uploaded five landscapes that I love--googling for images is a pastime and I save tons of things.

For trepkos,

Top 5 alternate or fictional realities you'd like to inhabit and top 5 characters that you identify with

I'm not sure I want to inhabit any of the fictional realities I like watching/reading about. Either that or my imagination fails me. ;) But here are five characters I identify with, for reasons that probably shouldn't be examined too closely:

1. Spike
2. Rodney McKay
3. Monk
4. Matthew Scudder
5. Sara Crewe

There are probably some better ones out there, but again my fuzzy memory fails me.

Sara! Oh, how I love her.

Have you seen through the end of Angel yet? I can't say more until I know.

You didn't want to do mine?
Anna S.eliade on January 19th, 2006 03:30 am (UTC)
Yikes! Sorry, I must have totally missed it when I was collecting them into my Word doc. I will go find yours and do it, of course! Of course I'll do you! *g*

Awww, you don't have to. But since I'm mainlining all your J/V fic and coming up with lots of my own favorite scenes, I'd be curious to know yours.

So if you're up for it, do me! :)
Anna S.: dh-street-kideliade on January 19th, 2006 04:04 am (UTC)
Oh, I totally want to. :D Though it'll probably be tomorrow, because it's 8:03 and I'm already about to go to bed and oh for crying out loud. I'm so tired of being tired. :P
Isis: yumisiscolo on January 19th, 2006 02:21 am (UTC)
Mmm, aren't those soft microfibers lovely. I got a blanket/throw recently and it's just mmmmmmm.

*whispers* Jayne/Simon.
You know you want to. There's just not enough of it in this world.

I'd read your UV slash ….
Very inconvenient, as now I have no shaving-glassdzurlady on January 19th, 2006 09:59 am (UTC)
I love the texture of really short hair - it's all soft and fuzzy. :)

I'd read your Monk, UV and Firefly slash, and happily! Actually I love your description of Monk, the character, and I love the show b/c it's a realistic portrayal of a man in pain, who's suffered, whose life could conceivably be called "tragic", and the show's comedic in tone. It's like Checkov pushed into the light, and made oddly happy.

And I always, always identified with Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden too much for comfort really.

I had almost forgotten about the Norington slash. How could I forget that?

Trepkos: King of Yesterday by Lonesheeptrepkos on January 19th, 2006 04:53 pm (UTC)
Yay! Spike's still top of the list!
He's top of mine too.
Rodney McKay I only know from your fic - I think I love him already.
3. Monk - I've never seen
4. Matthew Scudder - ditto
5. Sara Crewe - ditto

My other ones are Spock, Jadzia Dax, Avon (Blake's Seven) and Lin Chung (The Water Margins - Chinese epic made in Japan!)
I think I'd be OK with living in Sunnydale, Star Trek future (DS9 era), Rivendell, or Narnia (centaur thing).

Brugge, really? Have you been there yourself? It's definitely one of my favourite places in Belgium and I try to go there at least once a year.
