"The Brotherhood" is a very hard episode to watch because every time Rodney and John appear on screen together they resume their SNARKY JEALOUS LOVERS' TIFF! And then I literally burst out in chest-hurting giggles and have to pause the DVD and leave the room.

Of course, I'm only thirteen minutes in, and this good stuff might end at any moment--which is probably why I keep pausing to prolong and savor it.

ETA: The tiff just morphed into backhanded romantic maneuvering as John convinced Rodney not to put the moves on the beautiful scientist, Allina. Yeah, wait until tomorrow, Rodney, when you're less tired.

Yes, yes I am discovering all of this months after everyone else in the free world. But it's not too late, is it?!

It's not too late. I came late, too. But really, Anna, it's a wonderful show. I would counsel you to not pick and choose and watch from the beginning in order. Because this isn't Chris Carter, you can trust these writers, and they build on things.

Ahh ha haaa! I noticed this too! And I went back to the beginning just now to watch them in order. *g*

It's never too late for slashy goodness---especially snarky slashy goodness.

While Sanctuary is the ep to see Jealous!Rodney in action The Brotherhood is the one to see Jealous!John. I love that ep. I'm so glad someone besides me saw the slashiness. I got in a discussion about Sheppard and had to point out to people just how jealous John was. He's not as loud and upfront about it as Rodney, but it's there.

I mean like you mentioned, he talks Rodney out of trying to go after the hot, brainy chick who wants him. Gets him to wait until the next day to make his move.

Then he mentions having taken the Mensa test at the most inopportune moment possible. Completely distracting Rodney from the puzzle they have to solve "Or Else!". He could have waited, but Rodney had been focused on the girl all day and John wanted his attention dammit! Which he had from that moment on. As if being able to do the math puzzle wasn't a big enough turn on for Rodney.

I love this show.

The joy of coming to a fandom late is that you get to read a lot of good fiction back to back and thus delay the inevitable, 'why isn't anyone posting anything' blues.

I haven't got past the first five minutes of "Hide and Seek", I keep going back to the start and watching it again. I'm finding it hard to believe it gets much better than that.

If it's too late for you, it's too late for me - I just saw my first episode of Atlantis tonight.

Ah, so full of envy! The only Atlantis ep I've seen is Rising, because it's the only out out so far on DVD...

You're like a week behind me. I think this is exactly the right time, because now we only have to wait a couple of weeks for a new season instead of seven months.
