SGA help!
sherrold and I are about to cherry-pick through some SGA episodes. I vaguely remember hearing that in one of them, Rodney's kind of bad and wrong if not entirely evil. Does that ring a bell with anyone? :D

I think that's a great description of McKay when he first appeared on SG-1, where he was a complete rat bastard -- but he's never been that bad on SGA. They started redeeming him on SG-1 long before he got his own show. *g*

Maybe when he "borrows" the ZPM in Childhood's End? But yeah, he's much more objectionable in SG-1.

Hmmm, ah! We didn't get to that one tonight, but I'm definitely looking forward to it now. :-)

Also--your story, Face Value? Oh my god, so good. I have it bookmarked on my work computer so that I can rec it. There are complex reasons involving office work and coffee breaks and memory failure that prevented me from doing that today, but it will happen and in the meantime I take this moment to squee. *g*

Oh, thank you! Whee! :bounces:

And it's sort of sad that we don't have an evil Rodney yet, isn't it? Well, maybe next season, evil Rodney will pop through the quantum mirror, and good Rodney will have to save the day...and the lovely thing about Stargate is that they really might play out that scenario, because there is no scifi standard they won't touch...

Ah, see I thought I heard there was a "Dark Rodney" ep kind of thing, like where he was under alien influence. But if there isn't one yet, maybe there will be one someday. *g*

No dark!Rodney episode (besides the ZPM stealing, but that's relatively minor, and no alien influence involved), but there's a somewhat dark!Sheppard episode, Sanctuary. Maybe that's the one you heard about?

*blink* Sanctuary as a "Dark!Sheppard" ep? Um, seriously? Maybe if you're a diehard slasher and you mourn over the fact that he liked a woman, but come on. Seriously?
a velour pandacosmic on June 24th, 2005 09:59 am (UTC)
That's why I had the somewhat there. Because he's a little mean to Rodney in that one scene, and. oh, god, I *am* a diehard slasher if that one scene is my only reason. *headpalms* Okay, it's evident my mind's been addled by too much post-Sanctuary fic. *hides in shame*

But it's the closest to dark!anyone (or possible alien influence) I could think of, besides the usual level of bitchiness we've all come to expect and love from the SGA boys in all episodes. ;)

Uh... not really.

I mean, Sheppard in The Storm/The Eye evinced some pretty real darkness. I feel his actions were perfectly justifiable under the circumstances and utterly believably in-character but pretty dark too.

Honestly, in Sanctuary Sheppard was a dipshit who was thinking with his dick when he completely ignored Rodney's concerns, but not what I'd call dark. Just asshat-like.

We watched Sanctuary last night--omg, Rodney was so GAY. In the best possible way.
