mmm. gay.
I bought a bunch of clearance dollar videos at Half-Price Books to while away the time on my Couch of Sickness. I got In & Out, the movie where Kevin Kline's character, Howard, is outed on national television, throwing his life topsy-turvy.

They just got to the scene where he's listening to the masculinity self-improvement tape and "I Will Survive" starts to play and he's supposed to resist dancing to it (Tape Man: "Truly manly men do not dance." -- Howard: "Oh, come *on*!"), but he ends up boogying crazily around his house. I love that scene. When I first saw it years ago I actually cried a little; it really moved me despite the fluff of it all--seeing this man break out of his false straitjacket and feel joy in himself. I love Kevin Kline of course. He is a god.

Such is my afternoon as it segues into evening. Pop culture and codeine-laced cough syrup.

You and I are schmaltz twins, then. I felt like such a dork for getting all teary the first time I saw that scene. *snortle*

You know, I was thinking the other day that I wanted to see that movie again, only I couldn't remember its title. Yay, thanks!

Oh, that's my favorite scene in the movie, too. It's funny and sweet and touching all at the same time. And Keven Kline is adorable.

That was my favorite scene too. I loved the way the tape keeps telling him to stop dancing.

Ahh yes that movie is soo good. I saw the preview for it on another movie about two months after it came out on video and I've been hooked since. My mom and I watched it, and every 10 months or so we watch it again.

'Tis tre funny and I love the Tom Selek/Kevin Kline kiss, not because it's hot--because ewww old!-- but because Howard's reaction is sooooooo funny.

That movie is really great. *wants to watch now*

P.S. Who doesn't love Kevin Kline. I also liked him in 'Dave.'

Oh my favorite scene was when Tom Selleck kissed him. Followed closely by the bar scene with Tom Selleck and Joan Cusack. I adore Joan Cusack.

It's a cute enjoyable movie. I have fondled the DVD several times, but it didn't quite dip into my price range yet.
