assbackwards fannishness.
I find myself reading Stargate Atlantis fan-fiction even though I'm not really watching the show yet. I've probably seen seven hours of it through the frequency of SciFi promo commercials, but it's the same seven hours. Anyway. Make recs to me? I'm into Sheppard/McKay, because I am predictable and they are pretty.

Transcendental, by astolat. It's my favorite SGA story so far.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who really gets hooked on a show or movie only after reading some good fanfiction. *g*

Raptors did *not* jump out of my closet after watching JP3. I did, however, shove finals and few ongoing AtS fics back-burner-wards in order to start a Alan/Billy ficlet. This? Is your fault. *g*

norah's recs are awesome, as per usual.

but did you call yourself or your recs "awesome?" No, because that's my job!

I found the Pegasus-B-verse (started by Salieri, but populated by a group of writers) to be highly addictive, although not quite as poly as I'd have liked. This is an AU SG:A & SG1 crossover, involving a fun grouping of pairings that eventually (disappointingly for me) seems to dissolve into McKay/Sheppard and Jack/Daniel.

transcendental is probably the best SHA fic so far as is julad's secret life of scientists (not mcKay/Sheppard); in fact, all of astolat's stuff is great :-)

thegrrrl has some good recs here and danver has more here [most of those were good, though a couple i wasn't too excited about]

for shorter stuff just go through the sga_flashfic memories and look for familiar names :-)

finally, i recced a bunch of things this morning that came out this weekend.

They got me too, even before I'd seen theshow. Resonant8:

and you've probably already read torch's.

Koshka has Sheppard and McKay, and there's snark and great lines, and rapport, and H/C and no slash. Well, one of them is pre-slash, but I love them all. And I don't mean to say that 'but' as a "well, they're not slash, but I love them anyway type of thing," I mean it as a "you requested Sheppard/McKay and this might fit the bill if a sexual relationship is not an absolute requirement in the stories you're looking for." *g*

I second this rec with a resounding YES. I'm still not interested in the sexual contortions of Sheppard/McKay, so these fics work for me in a huge way. Also, I recommend some things by rivier (Cherry), thegrrrl2002 (We All Arrive By Different Streets), Resonant, shalott (Proof by Contradiction in particular) and torch; you can find their stuff in the usual places. Merry and rache have written good stuff, too. Most of those, you could have found by yourself, I suppose. But I'm so helpful today. *is helpful*

There'll be about 50 in the next PolyRecs update.

I'm kidding. But not by much.

I'm so glad I saw this posted in you lj. Now I'm all caught up in Transcendental. Such lovely recs you have here. :-)
