mmrrph.
My stomach keeps telling me that I'm hungry but it won't tell me what it wants to eat. It's like a cat that winds around your ankles squawking anxiously for food, but then sniffs the bowl disdainfully when you offer it kibble. I'm impatient with its mixed messages. Eat the kibble, damn you!

Even if you yell at your stomach to eat the kibble it will still be unhappy with you.

Wait until the cat has eaten the kibble and then eat the cat. It's natures way.

When my stomach is like that it usually wants very plain toast, sometimes sopped in hot milk. (I was amused to discover that bread-and-milk is in fact a standard folk remedy, at least according to M.F.K.Fischer.)

And, wow--I actually had toast! :D With butter and jam though.

I get like that occasionally, and end up eating far more than I should, in search of what I really want:

Ice cream? That's not it.

Oreos? Nope.

Nachos? Not quite.

And so on.

Which isn't very helpful, I know, but I'm in a sharing mood (and cranky from an abscessed tooth that prevents me from eating much of anything).

This has been my problem for the past ... oh, five months. Or maybe six. So I drink a Slim-Fast and then everything's better. And I've lost lots of weight, so I'm not complaining. I know it's just stress and weirdness, but ... weight loss!

I know, I'm weird. I'll go away now.

Hmmm. Ice cream sandwiches or salsa and chips? Those will usually do it for me ...
