list of the good
I am celebrating the good. There was also a handful of bad stuff in the last couple days, but I'm going to focus on this:
  • I had a "Vermont" this morning: cream cheese, maple butter, and walnuts on a crumpet. It is weepingly good. I will just say: mmmmmmmmgah.
  • I got some new work-out clothes and I look about fifteen pounds lighter and mucho more muscled in them. I mentioned to my trainer how flattering they were and she pointed out that looking good was a really great incentive to work out, which affirms my intention to go get some more from this line.
  • I shot more basketball this weekend, worked out with my trainer, and while treadmilling I briefly ran six miles an hour on a 6.0 incline, listening to "Sin Wagon." Happy.
  • I got these great amber stud earrings and a kicky beaded bracelet.
  • I had the best chocolate croissant in the history of the world on Saturday and a really great cappuccino too.
  • I lost more weight and my jeans are fitting better.
  • I went to a fannish bash on Saturday and hung out with people I like and saw great vids and ate...er, rather too much, though I can't manage to feel bad about the veal on a stick.
  • I managed to paint my nails. That's always a cause for self-congratulation.
  • I was gifted with samples of expensive moisturizer by a saleswoman and now my face is soft and amazingly lifelike.
Food, shopping, working out, and general thirtysomething girliness. I'm often a very simple creature.

Mmmmmmmmgah, indeed; I'm getting flushed just thinking about all that maple-y goodness.

Also, what line of workout clothes are these? Share, please!

If you ever come to Seattle, you *must* visit the Crumpet Shop. I tout it all the time--it has amazing sandwiches and (during the week & on Saturday) scones, beyond the crumpets.

I got them at Macy's. It's Style & Co. Sport. Larger sizes. I've always liked their clothes before now, too; they're usually simple in style and inexpensive. (Plus I usually buy stuff on sale. :)

The Crumpet Shop... my admittedly spotty memory is placing that on one edge of the Market (with street access)? Is that right? I don't recall ever eating there, just going past many times. Lord knows when I'll ever get back to Seattle, but I live in hope.

Yes! It's on the corner of Pike Place Market, next to the flower stand. :)

MmmchocolatecroissantOMG. Now I want one.

You know, what your trainer said is true. For three years I worked out in these really unflattering, baggy blue cotton pants with a weird pattern on them. Finally I had enough and went to this nifty shop called See Jane Run, and I got black lycra stretch pants and an extra, really nice, sports bra. And I am much more eager to roll out of bed in the morning and put these on, lemme tell ya.

I do want yoga pants and some pretty tops to get sweaty in, though. I am still wearing my grotty old T-shirts.

Yay for your good health and fannish events and yummy foodiness and girly things!

The croissant calls you. And it should be respected. It's a religious symbol, you know.

Yes! Me too. :)

Thank you, sweetie. You are always so cheering. *squeezehugnibble*

Dude. I am an atheist. I disbelieve in the croissant. It had some smart things to say, you know, and I can respect its teachings, but I sure don't believe it's the son of god or anything.

The croissant did not die for my sins!

Awesome! What line? I need to get some better-fitting non-icky workout clothes, so I am definitely in the market.

Well, they're larger sizes--Style & Co. (I got them at Macy's. :)

I'm glad you had a good weekend. So, which brand of moisturizer, and which line of workout clothes (I could also use some extra incentives to keep going to the gym).

The moisturizer is from Darphin; the clothes from Style & Co. :-D

Its great when you catch a glimpse of yourself and see a muscle you never saw before...that joy will be yours.
