fiction update and a question
Am coming along on charity story #3 (and why don't I like the term charity story? it's starting to bug me but I can't think of anything better), and had a question about W&H. Without providing any major S5 spoilers, can anyone tell me a little about their main facilities? Like, my impression is that the main corporate offices include apartments, with Angel in the penthouse & everyone else (main characters, I mean) in an executive living area. And also that they have medical facilities on site, not just scattered throughout L.A. Is this accurate?

The penthouse is accurate, but no one else lives there, they all have their own apartments. They do seem to have medical facilities on site though.

err by the penthouse is accurate, I mean yes, Angel lives there. The others have their own places. :)

Thanks! Do we get any glimpses of their off-site apartments, or do we just, like, see them leaving each night and it's implied?

We get to see Fred's apartment or at least her bedroom. It's very... red. And we get to see Spike's apartment, it's a basement one room type affair. Wes and Gunn no, but it's not an out of the line assumption to think that Wes may still have the same apartment he's had in past seasons.

Oh, and we also get to see Lindsey and/or Eve's place (which is actually the set from Wes' old apartment redressed.)

Which is because everything is Wesley's apartment redressed. I'm starting to think even my apartment is Wesley's apartment redressed ;)

And as an addition to the canon Wolf pointed out, Spike's apt was not owned by W&H. And they never did say if Fred, Wes, and Gunn kept their old places (which for Fred and Gunn was the Hyperion) or if all 3 of them got swankier digs with their new salaries.

D'oh - And Lorne. Lorne lived in the Hyperion too, never mentioned if he moved into new digs or if he was still there.

Well Fred's bedroom certainly didn't look like it was at the Hyperion in HitW and Shells so she probably at least got something new.

And we see Harmony's place too, which looks like about what you'd expect an executive assistant's apartment to look like.

Which is because everything is Wesley's apartment redressed. I'm starting to think even my apartment is Wesley's apartment redressed ;)

which makes it even more ironic that we never actually see Wes' apartment in season 5.... considering they're using the set like crazy.

Oo - good point. Fred's place didn't look too Hyperion-y.

I get why they never mentioned it, but it's a shame that they didn't indicate if the whole gang moved on up. It would've been symbolic of how much they were putting their trust and faith in the W&H deal. Moreso than the shiny new cars and bikes did.

"Charity story" makes me think of "charity child," which is a hateful term. Maybe that's what bothers you.

Tsunami story?
Reconstruction story?

They do have medical facilities on site, yes. Not sure about the rest.

The latest story for FicAid perhaps?

I like the term FicAid... just my two cents. :)

I think I've decided to call them "contribution stories". ;>)

That's good too- it has an official ring to it.
