can't sleep. dinosaurs will eat me.
SciFi original movies are the fan-fiction of moviedom. Tonight they're showing Anonymous Rex, which has a bizarrely eclectic cast and is so far pretty funny. Is anyone else watching this?

I'll see that one someday, but right now we're watching (I mean, "watching") a movie called In The Cut because witling's boy is in it. Mark Ruffalo, the one who looks like Nick Brendon. It's on one of the HBO channels.

But I wish I were watching Anonymous Rex, because I think Meg Ryan's getting naked, and I've run out of bleach for my eyeballs. I'd switch, but AnonRex is almost over. Ah, well.

Damn, I wanted to watch that and I forgot. Plus last night was The OC, CSI, and Without a Trace. Guess I have to look for the repeat.

Wait -- I thought it was just a 2-hour movie. Is it a series?

I enjoyed what I saw -- I thought they did some nice things with the visuals. Not the dino suits, but the smells and some of the transitions.

I'm sure they're just replaying it many many many times. :>)

I thought it was fun, once you got over the suspension bridge of disbelief it required. Vince's flashback during the Voice of Progress speech was the best part. Total kid-logic there, of course all the human kids dress up on Halloween, and get to be themselves all year round, so Hatchling!Vince tried to go trick or treating as himself, since dinos wear costumes all year round. Best godzilla costume on the block. And his dad dragging him home by his tail.

I thought the prejudice analogy was a little heavy handed, Vince's comtempt for apes until he finds out Gabrielle was adopted.

I think it was a series pilot that didn't get picked up, I know Scifi's going to be running it a couple of times this week.

Wasn't Faye Dunaway in it? Strange.

Saw it Saturday. It was so much better than I'd expected, as if they actually put some thought into the backstory of this universe rather than just thinking, "ooh, dinosaurs! Yes! And they disguise themselves as humans!"

The vinyl suit idea was horrifically bad, because how do you hide a triceratops head inside a vinyl suit? But then I thought that could explain afros, so I let it go. *g*

The Gabe being human thing was a nice touch, if a little overly-telegraphed. I really liked the ending with Vince being torn over what to do.

Too bad this didn't get picked up as a show. I would have watched it.
