new story: Involuntary Bodies
This was written as a substitution story for the Spander Inquisition, which I'm late turning in. It's for spikesbottomboy. If you'd like to read the challenge requirements beforehand, they're at the end of the story.

*sniff*
this was a ... *counts*... was a six-hanky-story.
Crazy!Tara, deserted!Dawn, broken Spike... waaaah.

If there was anything wrong with this it's the change of pacing at the end. I like this universe a lot. There should be more.

Loved your images, the balloon animal guts, and many more.

I think I have to print your stories out and bind them.

The fact that you are not able to write fiction full time is a bleeding crime!

Impressive, truly. I hope I can convey how enthralling the experience of reading this was -- I'm having a hard time shaking off the complex and convincing world you've built with this story. It's a gorgeous piece, full of the darkness of real life desperation set against the backdrop of demon-plagued Sunnydale unravelling slowly in the absence of its customary heroes.

Beautiful work with the pairing. The development of an alliance between Spike and Xander unfolds in a sort of heartbreaking way -- when the description of Spike's smile arrived, I felt disarmed and relieved by the hope that broke through the narrative.

Seriously excellent work with Dawn's voice and Tara's presence -- those two characters are always vibrant forces in the piece, such an achievement set alongside your success depicting Spike and Xander. Thanks.

How is it that you write stories that are spot-on perfect? Guh. Loved every word of this, from beginning to end.

Yeah, I get that ending. I even like it. I understand the late thing, and the wanting to goodgodpostthispuppy feeling.

But.

I could have gone on reading this story. The rest of the year, and the year Tara got better, and Buffy and Co. returning to find that the world's changed.

That. Was beautiful! I loved it! I loved how Xander had to be the one to take care of everything and everyone, and how he realized he hadn't been a very good person for not checking up on Spike until he needed him, and the way the four of them became a family unit and looked out for each other, and how he slowly developed feelings for Spike. I also loved the kiss in the car (and Xander going to be mad if he got killed *g*), the hot blowjob, and the lovely sex scene. And the day after. Xander deciding he really was a man after all, lol. Wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing.

This was amazing--mature, world-weary Xander, penitent, noble Spike, and just enough snark and humor to balance the angst just beautifully. I loved Spike and Xander as the left-behind ones, slowly finding each other after their respective worlds were shattered and building something better for it.

I'm absolutely panting to see the sequel strongly implied by the last paragraph. These two deserve apologies, damn it.

Yes, PLEASE, write more in this 'verse. I wanna see the return. I wanna see more Spike-Tara interaction as she starts to regain her wits. I want to spend more time in bed with Spike and Xander.

BACK TO WORK!!!!!

Jayzus.
K. I knew it before, but now i KNOW.
I worship your brain.
I love the hurt you weave into your narrative that somehow, slowly, is picked apart and picked out and smoothed and made better.
I love the little deatails of life and i love the inner voice you give your Xander.
Followed you here from herself_nyc.

My god, I love this. Yeah. Wow. Soverygood.

You do such an amazing job of capturing the feel of the show, the humor of the show. Your Xander dialogue, especially, is just perfect. And this story was such a perfect blend of pathos and humor and love.

I still don't buy S/X very easily, but you manage to sell it every time.

Hee. Now I want to know what happens when Angel, Buffy, Willow, and Giles get back. *G*

Followed this from entrenous88 -really liked it. The despair at the beginning, the gradual move to becoming a family and the budding relationship between Xander and Spike. Would love to read more.
