Gosford Park is one of those movies, like The Rock, where you have to boggle at the sheer *quantity* of cool actors in it. It's kind of a boring movie, actually. Both of them are. But Gosford makes for great background noise--pretty pictures with the sound off while I try to decide if I should go back to bed or leave the apartment for bacon and then go back to bed. My eyes have a sleepy, lightly sandpapered ache.

What is everyone doing this weekend? I'm curious. I want to browse through a list of other people's lives and compare mine against it.

A is going to the seashore...
B is riding ponies...
C is making a student film of her roommates...
D is in France, the bitch, eating baguettes on the Champs Elysees...
E has a hangover and is still in bed...
F is getting served breakfast in bed by her maid...
G is having a pedicure and reading Pure Drivel...
H is having fabulous multi-orgasmic sex with Clive Owen...
I is contemplating bacon...
J is working on her dissertation in a foul temper...
K is in a rocketship heading to the moon...!

Sigh. You can lie if you want. Or confess what you *want* to be doing and then what you're *actually* doing. Meanwhile I'll be off somewhere either covered in bacon or sandwiched into bed.

H is having fabulous multi-orgasmic sex with Clive Owen...

Ooooh, fuck yes.

Ummm, I'm going to sort through my clothes and put heavy sweaters away. Because yay, even in Toronto it can't snow in April (*crosses fingers*)

You know, it snowed here in April a few years ago. April 18th, as a matter of fact.

And this is Italy.

Just sayin'. ;)

I'm eating too much sushi. I thought my evening would be mostly sitting around saying "I ate too much sushi!" to myself, but then I remembered I'm going to a little warm-up pre-party thing. Then the others are going out dancing and carousing and I will go home and say to myself, "I ate too much sushi!"
torchflambeau on April 17th, 2004 01:47 pm (UTC)
And I update, because I'm sure you're riveted: I have had sushi, visited friends and had vodka and cranberry juice, and returned home and had the rest of the sushi. I have also put up two star-shaped lamps on my bedroom wall, painted some shelves off-white, planted balsam seeds in three earthenware pots, repotted my cacti, and bought new curtains. Tomorrow I will assemble the painted shelves, put my cookbooks in the kitchen where they belong, do some ironing, and edit a chapter of a friend's dissertation. Or maybe run away and join the circus.

S just had a bacon sandwich and will soon retire to a lawn chair in the sun, where she will gain a little color and write a few words while watching the dog climb the woodpile and survey his domain.

I'm taking my van to U Wrench It where they promised to give me $90 for it then promptly taking the car to the shop to have the exhaust pipe repaired so it passes inspection.

Then I'm going to Aldies to spend my $88 in food stamps for some staples.

Then I'm watching movies tonight with Becci and Blue and Becci's baby in my big bed.

Of course, the harem I then ordered via Ebay will show up and entertain us.

I am in a rocketship heading to the Moon.

Bacon. Urk.

I am dying clothes into inhumanly bright colors and making a floaty top out of silk (also to be dyed a bright color). Later I will go shopping for teeny-bopper clothes (in bright colors), tomorrow shall be more of the same.

I would rather be catching up on a week's worth of television that I missed, from Everwood to Tru Callings *embarassment*. And sleeping.

I will be sitting here swathed in obscure anxiety, struggling to get out the next part of my WIP while outside the day is beautiful and people with lives socialize.

I am eating my very healthy lunch (turkey-avocado wrap with V8 juice) after a hard workout at the gym. Then I am going take down the storm doors and put on the screens, let fresh air into the house for the first time in a half-year, put on the B-52s, and clean this pigsty like a frenzied dervish. I will keep myself cheerful through the inevitable house-cleaning ill-temper by picturing Anna covered in bacon, in a pumpernickel-bed sandwich, watching the pretty Gosford Park people.

I'm going to hit a sale and get fabulous new clothes for bargain prices, as well as window shopping for Ralph Lauren and other top-flight names that I will one day be able to afford!

Tomorrow. Today, I'm cleaning and trying to beat cramps into submission. Huzzah?

ahestele and I are waiting for the kidlets to finish making breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls). Eventually, we'll all eat, clean up after and then stagger ourselves throught various stages of cleanliness, after which, at some point, we will deposit the kids at the movies to see Hellboy, while I take Alma to discover the joy that is Round Table Pizza.

There'll probably be shopping at some point. We're undecided on whether or not we're renting The Two Towers and Return of the King.

Aren't you just interested beyond words? *g*

It's kind of a boring movie, actually.

Aww, I thought Gosford Park was excellent.

As for what I'm doing this weekend... going to the symphony with a possible date. I'm excited. Though possibly being in a rocketship heading to the moon would be equally exciting. :)

I'm in bed, having fabulous sex with Mudd, jkb, charlesks, a double-hung boytaur, and an askajian dancer. Any moment now Brad Pitt will show up with the pizza while thamiris will record the event in her own inimitable style.

I'm eating cocoa krispies in my bathrobe and making my grocery list.
I'll be drafting a camel costume and elements of a bobby coat, assembling things to mail, and making strawberry shortcake later.
Barb: tryrahirah on April 17th, 2004 10:05 am (UTC)
Barb is mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, trying like hell to get into Cordelia's head so I can finish this goddam scene, pondering whether or not to run out for fabric softener, trying to plot strategy for the rpg I'm playing tonight, thinking of icons I want to make, utterly devoid of ideas for revamping my website, and wasting time reading LJ instead. Not all at the same time, though that could be interesting to watch.
rachewickedwords on April 17th, 2004 10:12 am (UTC)
I'm eating a pumkin scone and a grande nonfat chai, while pondering working out. Then I will sort laundry while L watched Voyager and E watches spongebob in the other room. Occasionally, I will sneak upstairs to my room to read some of "the last measure of devotion" by Sue Walker (a long QL slash novel). Eventually, I will bathe and dress, but that will be hours from now.

Oh and I will intermittantly stress over not writing, and wonder if I should open any of the files, but instead I will read LJ.
