It's Wednesday.
I'm back and I'm getting really creative with subject lines.

Boogie down, people.

(The irony I want to convey only works if you imagine me delivering those words in the flat, anesthetized monodrone of Ben Stein. It's a weak kind of irony. I'm more than usually humor-impaired right now.)

I've been wanting to reply to comments on my last post all week but work has been bedlam. I got e-mail today with the subject line "aurelius bedlam" by the way. First I thought it was spam and trashed it, then I thought, wait a minute, maybe it's a strange sort of story feedback and wouldn't that be cool, what a funny subject line, I bet someone's going to say clever things about the madness of Captain Aurelius, so I went to look, and of course it was spam.

Nothing much to say here, very uninteresting. It's dark and raining, I've been having boring Spike/Riley fantasies, I should have bought that almond croissant at lunch, I'm going home now.

Aurelius bedlam. I want that to be the name of something now. A song, maybe. Or a band. A British punk band, I think. Whose lead singer would be tall and bleached-blond with prominent cheekbones and a long leather coat, kind of Spike-esque, who might be confused by all of the screaming fangirls who just want him to deliver Buffy lines between songs...

Glad that you're back and hope RL has quit doing the hokey-pokey on your head. I've missed you terribly.

That's what it's all about.

When I see you post, I am happy. So I will use my disgustingly happy icon in your honor. *boogies*

Is it wrong to want to hear all about the boring Spike/Riley fantasies? Actually, I've just rearranged that to Spike/boring Riley fantasies, starting with Spike following Riley around and *never shutting up*, and segueing to Spike and Riley cozily shacked up, except that Spike keeps teasing Riley about being all whitebread and boring -- pretending to doze off during sex, "not noticing" that Riley's standing in front of him "'cause you just blend in so well. Hey, I know what we need: better wallpaper. Then I'll know the big blank boring patch is you."

I love it. It'd be like that cliche of boys pulling pigtails--Spike has secretly got a jones for whitebread but he can't admit it in the least, and Riley is exasperated until that day when Spike's crush is revealed in all its pathetic glory and then there is mad lip smushing and the exchange of notes in class.

...and of course it was spam.

Hee! But the important thing is you were hopeful! And sound just like Ben Stein!

Keep 'em coming. We're here with bells on.

If it helps on the other side of the world today in New Zealand, I had an almond croissant for lunch. And you know how good you thought it would taste? It was even better than that.

You may have to have an almond croissant, a custard square and a donut just to balance things up tomorrow.

Heh, I always end up opening spam when I think it's Buffy related. Once I got Buffy spam, for a dating agency for fans - I believe the subject line was: 'Sunnydate: Find your perfect Angel'.

Lovely to see you posting again, I always enjoy your thoughts. Hope you're feeling better soon.
