the day before friday

Today someone claim-jumped my hotel. Hotels are just cubicles or tiny rooms on the office floor where visitors without permanent desks set up shop for a day or month or whatever. Since my summer replacement is still at my desk until the end of today, I've been hotelling. It was a tiny room but I kind of liked it. Today, though, for lack of any other space, I've been put in a proper office. I want it! I want it! If I dig in my heels and barricade the door, can they really make me leave? I wonder.

I am eating grapes, I am postponing work, I am waiting for noon when I'll be going to lunch with a co-worker.

The Thursdayness of it all almost makes me happy.
