Angel: Lineage

Well, that didn't suck. As the rest of you knew already and were waiting to hear me say. (I mean, in that special fantasy-land where everyone cares what I say.) If you just sliced and diced all the Wes bits together, which was thankfully most of the episode, it was pretty fucking amazing. Alexis Denisof is just...I don't see how he can leave his house and make it to the set without being swarmed by hordes of weeping fans and licked to death. Certain fatuous, over-hyped Oscar winners should watch this show, because after this ep, they'd click off the TV, take their statuettes down off the mantel, drive to AD's house, and shamefacedly present him with the recognition he deserves.

Eve was left in the elevator. If it had been a slightly different episode in tone, the final shot would deservedly have been of the closed elevator doors, as we hear her banging and yelling, and then we pan to the empty lobby. A maintenance man trundles a cart by, pauses, cocks his head, then keeps walking.

The Wes/Fredness was beautiful for once.

And then there's Spike.

*facepalms*

Someone just kill me now. Also, I am probably the only person in all Spike-BtVS-Angel fandom who is not looking forward to next week. It makes my teeth clench.

I will need to be very drunk this Wednesday.

Nope, I don't want to see S/A chick-fighting over Dru, at all. I'm going to tape it, drink lots, and play it in the background while I write evisceration smut for M. Christian. Who will reject me, again. It's a theme.

Wednesday, I am considering breaking my "watch it instead of going to the Vogue and drinking and dancing" rule, because WIGS! ACCENTS! Fuck that. I mean, it may well be good, but I think I'd rather strap myself into a corset and a large skirt and make a fool of myself in public, and then watch it after I make my tispy way home.

It's so very, very true, and yet he still somehow manages to fly very much under the radar. I continue to be confused.

Maybe smut will help you? songstress_magz (http://www.livejournal.com/users/songstress_magz/) has an S/A story that you may like.

"Hard Time"---Summary: Spike's a computer hacker who's just received a ten-year prison sentence. He's taken under the wing of Angel, who agrees to protect him from the bigger and stronger inmates than himself in exchange for sex.

I was happily surprised by the agreeable Wes/Fredness too. Perhaps the real Fred is gonna make a comeback?

AD doesn't get licked to death because one sight of him makes fans socks melt and they can't catch up, despite his insouciant stroll...

I think that his wife might have something to say about any lickage too. Who wants to be turned into a toad..?

Facepalming over Spike? "Kill me now"???

My reactions exactly.

Imagine my astonishment to find practically everyone else squeeing in delight. I am in the Twilight Zone.

Next week: Love Dru, but don't trust them to make a good ep of this on Angel's show. Consider it must-see TV anyway, but perhaps outside of a bottle of wine.

I don't know if you count me in amongst Spike-BTVS-Angel fandom but I'm not looking forward to Destiny either. I'd say more but I forget where you are in spoiler whoredom. But suffice it to say that I like Spike (as I like all the characters) when he is written well and he was most definitely not written well for Lineage. I have my doubts about him being written well for Destiny. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though.
