afternoon angst, minor key
A handful of you may identify with this: how when you're, say, maybe a little premenstrual and you're at work and you put in the first due South CD and you get to the penultimate track, "Fraser/Inuit Soliloquy," and you start to get worked up, more and more, right up to his final line: "...and I think--I think that was the single most courageous act that I've ever seen."

Segue seamlessly into "Dief's in Love," cue tears.

And then music, music, music, the hairs rising on the back of your neck, rifle rising, dog running across snow.

I don't know what song you are talking about but I can relate.

Tonite for dinner I was making tuna melts. I was listening to Damien Rice. The combination of Volcano and Blower's Daughter causes me to cry, even while I sing. Tears fall into the tuna and the cat stops watching the meal and looks at me. There is nothing melancholy and romantic about tuna, but the angst of this singer plus my hormones give me a one-two punch every time.

Okay, so I skip over it. I'm a heartless bitch. You happy now?

Oh god! I'm a heartless bitch!

No worries. *g* There are several tracks on the CD I regularly skip over, as on most CDs. And it's an oddball track and of course non-musical, that speech of his, so I can see that.

This is when you should stop and say to yourself, "Self! Ces would love me so much right now if I wrote her some DS fiction!" running away

Eeee! Ces commented in my LJ! (Which makes me realize how crazy-much I miss you, my little honey-pie-pot!)

I read your recent offering, by the way, and did *not* comment, only because I am greedy American consumer girl and I was having a lazy suck-o moment-o! But it was sweet, baby, and I love your commitment to the Ray K & the Fraser. :) I keep thinking I need to get the due South DVD(s), but I haven't ever moved into the territory of writing.

How are you, pumpkin?
