Dear God,

Thank you for not killing me or maiming me during my vacation. I had a very nice time, and frankly I do not want to go back to work tomorrow. If you love me--and the Christians tell me that you love everyone--an earthquake of about 8.6 on the Richter scale, around 7:38 a.m., would not go unappreciated, because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to go into the office for another twenty-four hours.

Think about it, okay?

Dear Anna --

I'm trying to balance your prayer against those of Sarah Beth Hollingsworth that everything go right for her wedding tomorrow and little Crissy Stevenson that "everybody is happy forever and no one die." This will be a challenge for Me and My Godly Powers, but I assure you, I will do all I can to satisfy everyone.

Yours in Ineffability,

Dear Anna,

I wish I could help you out, but I'm afraid the current Anglican schism is absorbing all my attention.

Yours in friendship,
