What *is* that? Was it chasing Indiana Jones? Is it a giant katamari ball?
Anna S.eliade on November 8th, 2005 07:02 pm (UTC)
There was recently a huge rockslide here in WA that closed I90; I was looking for an image of a rockslide to send my co-editor as a joke and found this. :) You can read more about it here.

Anna S.eliade on November 8th, 2005 07:03 pm (UTC)

Well, that's one spider I don't want to meet.
Sandysp23 on November 8th, 2005 06:56 pm (UTC)
Wow, I'd hate to see the beetle pushing *that* dung ball.

I'm thinking that would make an excellent, "Shit happpens." icon.
SEFsef1029 on November 8th, 2005 07:09 pm (UTC)
That's excellent, but I don't think it beats the one that my colleagues and I use as a metaphor for tech writing and editing:

We used to say things like "Oh, you know, we've just got to paint the possum on this one."

An aethestically attractive, and bloody big, rock; but just as a weed is a only a flower in the wrong place, not entirely convenient in the middle of the road.

OMG what is that thing and where can I read more about it?!?!?!?

Heh. Just kidding.

Dave seems like a very interesting guy (once you get past the stock graphs), and his thoughts made me want to go hug somebody for no reason at all.

Our rockslide lives!
This is Topanga Canyon, February 2005, after many many days of rain. This was on my usual route home from work. At the time we were amazed nobody got squished. It only took them 2 days to dynamite out the rock, but it took another couple weeks to finish fixing the road.

That thing is amazing! Amazing and SCARY. Not to mention mind-boggling. I'm glad you're alive! :D
